About Joga BSE
Joga BSE (Brazil Soccer Experience) is a program founded by Francisco Paixão and Matheus Dariva with the mission of delivering an authentic and transformative soccer experience in Brazil. Designed for young American athletes, Joga BSE offers the opportunity to train, eat, and live within the facilities of established Brazilian clubs — fully immersed in the daily routines of local players.
The name Joga, which means to play in Portuguese, reflects the spirit of Brazilian soccer: free, expressive, and deeply passionate. In Brazil, the phrase "Joga Bonito"— play beautifully — captures the essence of the game, emphasizing creativity, joy, and technical mastery. At Joga BSE, we strive to bring that same energy and philosophy to every athlete who joins our program. Our goal is not only to help players elevate their game through high-level training and cultural immersion, but also to foster personal growth, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the beautiful game.
Our Team
Franciso Paixão: Co-Founder
Francisco’s soccer journey began in the youth academy of Fluminense Football Club in Rio de Janeiro, one of Brazil’s most prestigious clubs. A true student of the game, he went on to play for multiple teams across Brazil, gaining invaluable experience at every level before moving to the United States to pursue his college career.
Beyond the field, Francisco has helped bridge the gap between Brazil and the U.S. for aspiring athletes. As a partner at Brazil Export, he guided countless Brazilian student-athletes in finding college opportunities in the U.S., combining his passion for soccer with a mission to open doors for others.
At Pitchwise BSE, Francisco leads our club partnerships and designs each program schedule. He’s the driving force behind making every trip an unforgettable, life-changing experience for our athletes.
With deep knowledge of the game, strong relationships in the Brazilian soccer world, and an unwavering passion for mentorship, Francisco believes this journey is more than training. It’s a transformational experience, both on and off the field.
Education:
Matheus Dariva: C0-FOUNDER
Born and raised in Curitiba, Brazil, Matheus spent over 20 years as a goalkeeper, developing a deep passion for the game. His journey brought him to the United States, where he played college soccer and now calls Denver, Colorado home.
At BSE, Matheus plays a key role in connecting with clients and providing personalized support throughout their entire experience, from selecting the right program to coordinating timelines and logistics. He is your go-to resource from day one, ensuring a smooth and enriching journey.
Matheus is a firm believer that soccer is more than just a sport. To him, it’s a powerful tool for life, instilling values like discipline, teamwork, and resilience, skills that stay with you far beyond the field.
Education:
Matheus earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Economics from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he was also a student-athlete and was awarded the Top Finance Student in 2016. He also completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Universidade Federal do Paraná in Brazil.
